Langata Southland FC and Beijing Raiders emerged as champions of the Betika “Fundi Bingwa Cup” tournament that ran from the 8th to 10th October 2021. The Fundi Bingwa Cup saw Langata Southland FC win the men’s category taking home Kshs. 250,000 and Beijing Raiders win the women’s category taking home Kshs. 100,000. Kenya says it is on track to raise 1 million dollars toward the conservation of elephants within the current financial year that ends in June 2022. Najib Balala, cabinet secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife said they raised KSh 16.5 million. This was realised during the inaugural Magical Kenya Tembo Naming Festival held Saturday. Kenya’s Ruth Chepngetich, and Ethiopia’s Seifu Tura won the women’s and men’s titles respectively on Sunday at the 43rd Chicago Marathon. Ruth crossed the line in 2:22:31. American Emma Bates finished second in 2:24:20. Sara Hall finished third in 2:27:19, and Keira D’Amato finished fourth in 2:28:22.
