Kenya says it will deploy the use of the new novel oral polio vaccine type two (nOPV2) aimed at addressing mutants of the virus. Kenya is among the countries that have been certified to use the novel oral vaccine type two as part of its prioritised polio eradication initiatives. Online video streaming platform Netflix says it will premier a series of an “Anthology of African Folktales, Reimagined” in 2022.  This will be through a Netflix and UNESCO partnership innovative short film competition across Sub-Saharan Africa. Winners of the competition will be trained and mentored by industry professionals and provided with a US$75,000 production budget to create short films that will premiere on Netflix in 2022 as an “Anthology of African folktales”. The Kenyan shilling depreciated to a record against the dollar attributed to increased import activities by local traders. The shilling touched KSh 111.02 per US dollar on October 21, compared to KSh 110.81 per US dollar on October 14 according to data from the Central Bank of Kenya. Kenya’s National Treasury has been directed to increase the threshold for the reporting of cash transactions with the Financial Reporting Centre (FRC) from the current Ksh 1 million (USD10,000). The directive from  President Uhuru Kenyatta will be applicable to both withdrawals and deposits by bank customers.
