Skyward Express has expanded its regional operations by launching direct flights between Mombasa and Dar es Salaam. The inaugural flight took place on December 11, 2024, with Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sharrif Nassir in attendance.
Governor Nassir emphasised the significance of this new route in strengthening regional ties, and fostering trade, tourism, and cultural exchange between Kenya and Tanzania.
“This development opens doors to shared prosperity and mutual growth,” he stated.

Expanding Regional Reach
This latest expansion follows the airline’s successful launch of direct flights from Nairobi to Dar es Salaam in November 2024, marking its first international route. The Nairobi-Dar es Salaam route operates three times a week (Monday, Friday, and Sunday) with fares starting from Ksh18,500.
Skyward Express relocated its operations from Wilson Airport to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in March 2024, a strategic move that has facilitated its regional expansion. This new base allows the airline to connect international passengers to Mombasa and now seamlessly to Dar es Salaam.
Domestic and Regional Network
Skyward Express serves a network of domestic destinations including Diani, Lodwar, Kitale, Mombasa, Malindi, Eldoret, Kakamega, Kitale, and Migori. The airline, founded in 2013 by a group of local pilots and investors, joins Kenya Airways and Air Tanzania in offering direct flights between Kenya and Tanzania.
