Equitel, Finserve’s mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), has partnered with Airtel to launch Africa’s first successful MVNO offering 5G services.

The launch builds upon their successful 4G launch, further revolutionizing the virtual telecommunications landscape in Kenya.

What this means

5G technology empowers businesses, communities, and individuals to engage in the digital economy actively, experiencing lightning-fast internet speeds.

In addition, Equitel’s 5G service is already available in over 370 locations across Kenya, including major towns and cities.

In collaboration with Airtel, the service will soon expand to densely populated areas like residential neighbourhoods, shopping centres, and central business districts.

On the other hand, Equitel is already known for offering its customers convenient, accessible, and affordable mobile banking services. This includes free Equitel-to-Equitel money transfers, payments to over 1 million merchants through the One Equity Till Number, and access to informative content through the “my life” platform.

As a result, Equitel is offering a special promotion to mark this milestone: 100% bonus data on bundles every Wednesday and Friday.

How to access Equitel 5G

  • You need a 5G-capable device with a 4G-LTE SIM card.
  • If you still have a 3G SIM card, visit your nearest Equity branch for assistance with a seamless transition.
