Emirates and Kenya Airways (KQ) have announced an interline partnership that will allow customers of both airlines access to new destinations on the two airlines’ networks within a single itinerary.

Dubai-based carrier Emirates and Kenya Airways have joined forces to announce an interline partnership that brings a new level of convenience and connectivity to their customers.

This collaboration enables passengers to access a wider range of destinations on both airlines’ networks within a single itinerary, enhancing travel options and streamlining the baggage check-in process.

Under this agreement, Emirates customers gain access to 28 destinations on the Kenya Airways network, utilizing Nairobi as a gateway to various regional points in Africa, including Nampula, Bangui, Bujumbura, Kigali, Dzaoudzi, Lubumbashi, Kinshasa, Kilimanjaro, Juba, Zanzibar, and many more.

Furthermore, passengers can now book a single ticket itinerary from or to Mombasa, a popular leisure destination in Kenya.

Likewise, Kenya Airways passengers departing from Nairobi and Mombasa will have seamless access to Emirates’ network, facilitating convenient connections through Dubai to 23 destinations across West and South Asia, the Far East, the Indian Ocean, and the Middle East.

These destinations include Singapore, Tokyo, Bangkok, Ahmedabad, Beirut, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Seoul, and other major cities.

Adnan Kazim, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to ink our first partnership with Kenya’s flag carrier. Kenya is a strategic gateway in our Africa network, and this new interline agreement will enhance connectivity for Emirates’ customers and provide them with more travel choices across the continent.”

Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer of Kenya Airways emphasized the significance of such partnerships in the aviation industry, stating, “This partnership will provide the ideal gateway for our customers as we seek to increase our connectivity between Africa and the Middle East through Emirates’ hub in Dubai.”

“Partnerships like these are key in aviation as they take advantage of mutual scale and efficiencies to provide customers with more seamless travel options.”

Emirates, which started operating in Kenya in 1995, offers 14 weekly flights between Nairobi and Dubai, providing passengers with a superior experience that includes private, enclosed First Class cabins.

Kenya Airways, on the other hand, recently launched direct flights between Mombasa and Dubai, operating four weekly flights and expanding their connectivity options.
