Safaricom has revised its PostPay offering targeting its over 33 million customers with a minimum allowable limit of Ksh 1,000.

The new PostPay product comes with new prices and more data. It also introduces a new way to sign up for PostPay.

“We have big surprises for our PostPay customers in the near future where we plan to offer additional destinations for international calling and also unveil a device financing model where customers can get a device as part of their PostPay plan,” Safaricom Chief Customer Officer, Sylvia Mulinge.

Enrolling

To enroll to the new PostPay, you will be required to dial *544# and select option 4 to Join PostPay or just use the MySafaricom app to do so.

You also have the option to subscribe to the PostPay tariff without selecting a plan, which means that you will be charged at KES 4.30 for your calls and data used and you will receive a bill at the end of your 30 days period.

Plans and Benefits

Available to all PostPay customers and Prepay customers looking to join PostPay, the revamped plans will be offered at five price points ranging from a Ksh 1,000 plan with 5GB data, 400 minutes and unlimited SMS, to a Ksh 10,000 plan that offers unlimited data, voice and SMS.

Customers on the new plans will be able to use their voice allocation to make local calls across all networks and international calls to India, the United States, China and Canada.

The introduction of no-expiry PostPay plans is part of Safaricom’s “For You” customer commitment unveiled by the company in October 2019.

The latest post-paid tariff once it gets depleted, customers will be charged an out of bundle rate.

“You will be charged an out of bundle rate of Kshs. 2.30 for calls and Kshs. 1.30 for data. This is only applicable once the bundles run out, you can also purchase other bundles with expiry or non expiry on *544#.

In 2015, it introduced the  ‘Advantage Plus’ tariff plan. Customers would spend between KSh3,000 and KSh10,000 a month for a pre-set amount of talk time, SMS and data usage.

This was their fourth post-paid tariff for its customers.

Other plans were introduced in 2011.
