Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) on Tuesday lifted the suspension of Silverstone Air Services’ Dash 8 series aircraft.
KCAA Director General Gilbert Kibe said the airline had provided satisfactory corrective measures following compliance audits on its operations between October 25 and November 15, 2019 as per the requirements of the Civil Aviation Regulations 2018.
“KCAA will continue to undertake its continuous surveillance on the operator as they resume normal operations for the Dash 8 series aircraft effective November 19, 2019,” read the statement.

However, the fate of the airline’s staff is in limbo after it warned its pilots and crew in a redundancy notice of imminent job cuts following the grounding of its Dash-8 fleet.
“Silverstone Air Service Ltd has become redundant. This decision has been made as a result of the recent decision by Kenya Civil Aviation Authority to ground the company’s fleet, thereby grounding our passenger service,” read the redundancy notice in part.
