SafeBoda Launches Electric Motorbikes in Uganda

Ugandan ride-hailing app SafeBoda is now offering an “Electric Boda” option alongside its traditional motorbike taxis. 

“Transitioning to electric motorcycles isn’t just a technological shift; it’s a testament to our vision for a cleaner, greener, and more inclusive future,” says Catherine Tulina Kafumbe, Uganda Country Director of SafeBoda.

This eco-friendly service is priced competitively with regular rides to encourage customers who prioritize green transportation.

Ordering an electric boda follows the same familiar process as booking a regular ride through the SafeBoda app.

This initiative comes after SafeBoda’s return to the Kenyan market in February 2024.
