Three students from Kenyatta University (KU) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) universities are the winners of this year’s #MyLittleBigThing SDG’s Innovation Challenge. Stephen Muchiri, a graduand from JKUAT emerged the overall winner with his Auto-Alcoblow, alcohol detection and monitoring system. The system measures blood alcohol levels by analyzing a driver’s breath and prevents ignition of a car engine by an intoxicated driver. Young Scientists Kenya (YSK) in partnership with the Ministry of Education, The Embassy of Ireland and BLAZE by Safaricom has today announced that the National Science and Technology Exhibition will be held on 6th – 9th August 2019 at KICC. 19 betting companies, 13 casinos, and six lotteries face closure after Kenya’s Betting Control and Licensing Board has ordered telecommunications companies to shut down pay bill numbers and shortcodes for failing to renew their operating licenses.
