The International Monetary Fund (IMF) finally approved a disbursement of  $28.5 million ( KSh32 billion) to Kenya.  The funds are aimed at supporting Kenya’s program to address debt vulnerabilities and response to the Covid-19 pandemic and at enhancing governance. The funds are as a result of the completed second review of the 38-month Extended Fund Facility (EFF) and Extended Credit Facility (ECF) – funded program. Over one-fifth of the population in Africa did not have enough to eat in 2020, the United Nations said Thursday, which is 46.3 million more than in 2019. Athi River Mining Cement PLC is now under liquidation after two years of being in administration. This follows the appointment of the company’s administrators as liquidators. ARM Cement was placed under administration in August 2018. Also, its shares are currently suspended from the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
