Kenya leads the world in P2P cryptocurrency transactions, and ranks fifth overall in its adoption, a new report showed on Thursday. Mercy Corps Venture (MVC)  and  Celo Foundation report on the Kenyan Microwork Pilot findings show that the country is well-positioned to build on its reputation and leapfrog many of its peers through digital labour and cryptocurrency. Kenya is among six countries selected to receive the technology necessary to produce mRNA vaccines against COVID-19. Other countries are Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia. Longhorn Publishers Plc will not pay dividends for FY21 to its shareholders even after posting a net profit of KSh15 million in the year ended December compared with a  Ksh 145 million loss in 2020. British American Tobacco Kenya Plc Thursday reported a net profit of Ksh  6.483 billion for the full year ended December 31, 2021, up 18 per cent year-on-year.  This was attributed to the increase in net revenue and effective cost management and offset by higher corporation tax. “The growth in profitability is reflected in higher earnings per share aligned to our commitment to deliver sustainable shareholder value,” the company said.
