Limuru Tea Company Ltd, one of Kenya’s agricultural firms engaged in the growing of green leaf tea has warned of weaker earnings for the fiscal year ended 31 December 2021. Similar to the previous fiscal year, the firm attributes this to lower green leaf volumes and the rising cost of production. “The company is expected to record a decline of more than 25 per cent in the net profits. Kenya has fully vaccinated 17.5 per cent (4,763,682) of its adult population for Covid-19, while 6,198,816 have received at least one dose, the health ministry said on Sunday as per data on January 15th 2022. “As of January 15th 2022, a total of 11,082,457 vaccines have been administered across the country. Kenya, East Africa’s largest recipient of remittances, received USD 3,718 million (Ksh.421.6 billion) in 2021 with the United States being the biggest source, accounting for over 63.2 per cent of these funds, according to the Central Bank.   “The cumulative inflows in 2021 were a record of USD 3,718 million from USD 3,094 million in 2020, a 20.2 per cent increase,” the Central Bank said in its Weekly Bulletin.  In December, the Central Bank says remittance inflows was an all-time record of USD 350.6 million, compared to USD 299.6 million in December 2020, a 17.0 per cent increase.  “The inflows were…
