Rosalyn Mugoh, Managing Director and Principal Officer of Heritage Insurance, has been elected Vice President of Kenya Women in Insurance (KWIIN).
She runs the general insurance business of Liberty Kenya Holdings, which also owns Liberty Life Assurance Kenya.
What KWIIN Does and What the Role Involves
KWIIN promotes the advancement of women in insurance through empowerment, education, mentorship and collaboration. It gives women in the sector a platform to exchange knowledge, build skills and work together on initiatives.
As Vice President, Mugoh will work with members and industry partners to widen professional networks, add mentorship opportunities and encourage knowledge sharing. She will also help develop the next group of women leaders in the sector.
Mugoh on the Role
Mugoh said she is honoured to serve and to contribute to an organisation committed to advancing women across the industry. “There is tremendous talent among women in insurance,” she said. She added that she will work with colleagues and partners on mentorship, collaboration and professional growth.
Liberty Kenya on the Election
Heritage Insurance said the election reflects her work on professional development, mentorship and opportunities for women in the sector. Liberty and Heritage said the role recognises her commitment to mentoring women and called it “a proud moment for Liberty Kenya as well.”

From Aon to Heritage: Her Career
Mugoh joined Heritage in November 2024, when Liberty Kenya Holdings named her Managing Director of Heritage Insurance Company Kenya. Group Chief Executive Kieran Godden said her background in commercial and operational leadership would “complement the team” as Liberty executes its strategy.
Her profile lists the following roles:
- Aon Kenya, 2008 to 2009: Assistant Manager, Business Development. She says she handled a medical premium book above KES 300 million, grew it about 20% a year and kept 95% of clients.
- Alexander Forbes, 2010 to 2017: Head of Employee Benefits and Head of Medical Broking. She was also a member of its East Africa junior board from 2012 to 2017. She says her team quadrupled the size of a portfolio and made it the fastest growing business line.
- Zamara, 2018 to 2024: Managing Director. She says client retention rose from 70% to 94% under her watch.
She holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Africa Nazarene University.
Her Message on Planning for Risk
Mugoh describes her aim as helping people feel their families and investments are protected. She says it is never too early to hold a plan, and that people who have not started can begin now or review what they hold. Her profile cites more than 15 years in insurance, covering strategy and the full insurance cycle.
The vice presidency adds an industry body role to her position at Heritage.
