Access Bank Kenya and the National Bank of Kenya (NBK) have merged operations, with a unified branch network that allows customers of either bank to access full in-branch services across more than 100 locations nationwide.
This integration simplifys the customer experience and expanding financial access. Customers can now perform everyday transactions — including deposits, withdrawals, account inquiries, and fund transfers — at any branch, regardless of where they originally opened their account.
“By opening our networks to each other’s customers, we are making banking simpler, faster, and more accessible,” said Ralph Opara, Managing Director of Access Bank Kenya. “This integration reflects our commitment to delivering greater choice, enhanced digital services, and stronger financial solutions.”
Both banks have assured customers that existing accounts, cards, cheque books, and digital platforms remain valid, and that all deposits are secure.
Expanded Services and Strategic Synergies
The integration unlocks new benefits for retail, SME, and corporate clients:
- Retail and SME customers gain broader branch access and enhanced digital platforms
- Corporate and multinational clients benefit from Access Bank’s global trade finance and treasury support via hubs in the UK, Dubai, China, Malta, France, India, Lebanon, and Hong Kong
- Public sector clients continue to leverage NBK’s deep expertise, now strengthened by digitised collections and disbursements
“This synergy with Access Bank Kenya demonstrates how collaboration in the banking sector can deliver tangible value,” said George Odhiambo, Managing Director of NBK. “Together, we are building an institution that not only meets customer needs but also empowers communities and contributes to Kenya’s economic growth.”
