- Chelsea welcome Manchester City to Stamford Bridge in early league showdown
- Blues Manager Thomas Tuchel and City’s Pep Guardiola meet for the ninth time on Saturday
- Tuchel has won the last three clashes against the Spaniard and will be looking to add another win
Chelsea host Manchester City at Stamford Bridge in an early kickoff clash on Saturday.
Thomas Tuchel goes into the game buoyed by his side’s impressive start to the league campaign, recording impressive victories including a 3-0 demolition over Tottenham last Sunday.
Pep Guardiola has had a mixed start campaign with his side recording a 0-0 stalemate against Southampton with City failing to register a shot on target.
The two bosses have crossed paths numerous times before during their spells managing in Germany and England and will pit their wits against each other for the ninth time this weekend.
Tuchel can enter the match with the comfort of knowing he’s beaten Guardiola every time he’s faced him with Chelsea, but that will surely only serve as extra motivation for the Manchester City boss to set the record straight, having not come out on top against him over 90 minutes since 2015.
Chelsea will welcome back Edouard Mendy who missed Chelsea’s trip to Tottenham.
