Arabica Coffee beans from Rwanda’s Ngororero Coffee Washing Station won “Best of the Best” and “Coffee Lovers’ Choice” at the Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award.
After a series of “blind tastings” by an independent jury of experts and the judgment of a large segment of the public.
“It is an honor and a pleasure to reward the Ngororero Coffee Washing Station for this result, as well as all the finalists, because each one of them is actively engaged in the production of the highest quality coffee through sustainable methods”, explains Illycaffè president Illy , celebrating “the enormous dedication, pride and talent of the 25 million coffee-producing families in the world”.

The best coffees selected by the Illycaffè Quality Laboratory took part in the competition among producers in Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Ethiopia, Guatemala, India and Nicaragua.
The Ernesto Illy International Coffee Award, now at its third edition and dedicated to the family’s second generation leader, celebrates the collaboration that the company has been pursuing with producers for over a quarter of a century.
