Sri Lankan food giant CBL Group has announced its entry into the East African market with the establishment of a new distribution hub in Nairobi, Kenya.
CBL Group has partnered with global logistics firm Expolanka Freight Limited and local distributor Peniel Acumen Distributors to bring its flagship brands, Munchee biscuits and Ritzbury chocolates, to the Kenyan market.
“Kenya’s dynamic youth-driven market and the growing demand for high-quality snacks make it an ideal market for Munchee and Ritzbury,” said Kamal Geeganage, CEO of CBL Foods International.
“Our commitment extends beyond simply offering delicious products to catering to the diverse food preferences of Kenyan consumers.”
Expolanka Freight Limited, renowned for its efficient supply chain network, will ensure the seamless distribution of CBL Group’s products across Kenya, reaching supermarkets, local retail outlets, and wholesale markets.
“We are delighted to partner with CBL Group to introduce their renowned brands to the Kenyan market,” said Mr Wasantha Ranasinghe, Director of Expolanka Freight East Africa.
“Our expertise in logistics will ensure that consumers across Kenya have convenient access to these high-quality snacks.”
Founded in 1968 to combat malnutrition, CBL Group has evolved into a leading Sri Lankan food conglomerate, recognized for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.
“As a trusted local distributor, we are thrilled to partner with CBL Group and Expolanka to bring Munchee and Ritzbury brands to Kenyan consumers,” said Joyce Mukami, Director of Peniel Acumen Distributors.
“This collaboration goes beyond mere distribution; it’s about enhancing accessibility to high-quality, globally recognized snacks for all Kenyans.”
By establishing a Kenyan distribution hub, CBL Group strategically positions itself to leverage this entry point to serve the entire East African region, replicating its successful expansion model observed in West Africa and Asia.
