Kenya Airways (KQ) relaunched direct flights reconnecting Nairobi and Maputo with three weekly departures on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.

This move benefits travellers from Kenya and provides a convenient connection for passengers from other African cities flying through Nairobi.

“As we unveil our 45th destination -Maputo – we mark a major milestone in our network expansion journey,” says the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Allan Kilavuka.

KQ aims to boost intra-Africa connectivity, a key driver of economic growth, trade, and business expansion across the continent.

The route complements their existing service to Nampula, Mozambique, solidifying their regional presence.

The Maputo relaunch aligns with KQ’s broader 2024 network expansion, which includes increased frequencies to popular destinations like New York, Paris, Lagos, Accra, and Freetown.

“The demand for air travel is soaring, and we are determined to meet it by expanding our reach and fostering connections between Africa’s rich cultures and thriving economies. Adding Maputo to our network strengthens ties between Kenya and Mozambique, opening doors for increased trade, tourism, and cultural exchange,” Julius Thairu, Kenya Airways Chief Commercial and Customer Officer.
