They are committed to using cutting-edge technologies to improve connectivity and service quality. These include: Deploying LTE on the 2600 MHz band for increased capacity; Enabling Voice over LTE (VoLTE) for clear calls; Supporting eSIM technology for easier device switching and introducing small cell solutions in densely populated areas for better network coverage.

Airtel acquired the 2600 MHz spectrum in June 2022, allowing them to offer 5G services.

Currently, Airtel’s network covers 89% of the Kenyan population. Airtel is committed to expanding its network infrastructure, with plans to achieve 94% coverage by the end of 2024, ensuring that more individuals can enjoy the benefits of reliable connectivity.
