CIC Insurance Group plc will invest around 40 million KES to enhance customer experience through digital technologies.

The investment, aligned with its five-year strategic plan, will allow customers to purchase insurance and make payments online without filling out forms.

CIC Group CEO Patrick Nyaga said digitisation aims to enhance the accessibility of its products and services while ensuring business sustainability.

“We are optimistic that our digital propositions will make insurance services easier and faster for our customers,” said Nyaga during Tuesday’s launch of Easy Bima, a digital monthly motor insurance cover.

“Introducing Easy Bima will open up possibilities while demonstrating to the market that insurance can be simplified, affordable, fast and reliable.” 

EasyBima is an online monthly motor private product with a flexible payment plan of up to 12 equal monthly instalments.

“This will make insurance accessible,” said Mr. Fred Ruoro, Managing Director – CIC General Insurance Limited.

Fred explained that the product can be accessed through the Internet, making it more affordable and accessible for a broader range of customers.

In the 2023 fiscal year, the group witnessed a surge in downloads by 71 per cent and top-ups via the mobile app by 153 per cent compared to the previous period.

CIC Insurance Group has also introduced the Medipal mobile app, which helps track claims and serves as a client and service provider onboarding portal. In addition, the Dawa Mlangoni, a drugs delivery service that allows clients to receive their prescribed medication at their doorsteps.
