Tanzanian music star Ali Saleh Kiba, better known as Ali Kiba, has ventured into media ownership with the launch of Crowns Media.

The new company, unveiled over the weekend, encompasses a radio station, a TV station, and digital media platforms.

Inspiration for Crowns Media

Kiba spoke about the media’s influence on his career: “Media is a powerful tool. It’s what made me who I am today. As a kid, I’d always have the radio on, much to my father’s disapproval.”

“The challenges I faced growing up inspired me to contribute to the media landscape. 1986 marked the beginning of my voice, a voice filled with dreams and ambitions.”

Celebrating 20 Years in Music

The launch of Crowns Media coincides with Kiba’s celebration of two decades in the music industry.

During this time, he established himself as a prominent artist and helped put Tanzanian music on the global map.

Crowns Media’s Reach and Services

Kiba aims for Crowns Media to reach a broad audience. The company will encompass Crown FM, Crown TV, Crown Digital (digital media platforms), and event production.

The launch ceremony, held on Saturday evening, was a star-studded affair. Notable attendees included former Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete and fellow musician Ommy Dimpoz.

Ali Kiba vs. Diamond Platnumz: A Friendly Rivalry

With this move, Kiba joins fellow Tanzanian singer Diamond Platnumz, who owns Wasafi Media, a fully-fledged media house.

While Diamond is considered one of the most decorated artists in Tanzania and East Africa, their well-known rivalry has seen them take different paths.

Nevertheless, both artists continue to achieve remarkable success in music and beyond.
