After seven laugh-a-minute years and over 300 episodes, the “Wicked Edition” mastermind, comedian Dr. King’ori Mwangi, has hung up his NTV mic.

To his fans, this is not the end, but a cliffhanger!

King’ori, the show’s creator, writer, and self-proclaimed “Chief Tickler,” says he’s got a brand-new chapter brewing, ready to tickle your ribs in unexpected ways. 

“And as we chart new courses and explore fresh narratives, we invite you to join us through the plot twists. Thank you for being a part of our story. Here’s to turning a new page together with anticipation for the countless stories yet to be told.”

So what does this mean for “Wicked Edition”? Don’t fret; your satirical fix isn’t going anywhere. It’ll keep its Kenyan roots firmly planted while branching out to new, giggle-inducing frontiers. 

“This is thanks to the unwavering support from you our viewers/ Your patronage propelled us to great heights, earning us recognition at the prestigious Kalasha Awards and a nomination for the best performance in TV comedy and the best TV comedy in Kenya for the upcoming 2024 edition,” he wrote in a statement.

So there you have it, folks—Dr. King’ori’s out, but the laughter tsunami’s just getting started.
