China-based smartphone manufacturer Itel introduced its latest A-series smartphone, the A70 4G, an upgraded version of the A60 that came out early in 2023.

The A70 has improved features and a new design that make it superior to the A60.

The A70 has the same 6.6-inch 720p screen with a 60Hz refresh rate as the A60, but it comes in four different colours: black, gold, green, and blue. The black colour has a shimmering effect, and all the colours have the Awesome logo on the lower back.

The A70 also has a Type-C charging port, unlike the A60, which had a microUSB port. Another new feature is the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, which the A60 lacked.

The A70 has a faster Unisco T603 processor, and it comes with either 3GB or 4GB of RAM, which can be expanded to 8GB with virtual RAM from itel0S 13. It also has more storage options, either 128GB or 256GB, which can be increased with a MicroSD card.

The A70 runs on the full Android 13 operating system, while the A60 had the Android 12 (Go Edition).

The A70 has better cameras than the A60. It has two 13MP rear cameras and an 8MP front camera, while the A60 had two 8MP rear cameras and a 5MP front camera. Both cameras on the A70 can record 1080p videos.

The A70 has the same 5000mAh battery as the A60, but it supports Type-C charging at 10W.

The A70 comes with earphones, a SIM ejector tool, a charger, a cable, and a black matte back cover.

The A70 costs Sh13,000 and is available at itel stores, partner stores, and online platforms like Jumia and Kilimall.

Itel has also rebranded itself to mark its 16th anniversary and appeal to youth. It has a new logo and a new slogan: Enjoy Better Life.

In addition, It has also consolidated its products, from children’s electronics to personal care and power accessories, under the brands KeeKid, Sundaze, and Power Master. The new logo will appear on all its consumer technology products.
