Tuko.co.ke announced the winners of the TUKO Business Leaders Awards on their website and social media platforms. 

The award recognized CEOs of Kenyan enterprises and businesses whose initiatives have brought about positive change to the planet and the people, advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). 

The leaders set to be honoured in the TUKO Business Leaders Awards 2023 have been meticulously selected and interviewed. This selection was based on the types of corporate social responsibilities these companies have undertaken over the past two years and the life-changing impacts they have had on their beneficiaries.

Meet the Visionary Leaders

Among the esteemed winners are:

Mendi Njonjo, KCB Foundation, spearheads the 2jiajiri program. Mendi Njonjo empowers young Kenyans through skill development, vocational scholarships, mentorship, and access to finance. In 2023, the program trained over 10,000 individuals, resulting in the creation of 5,000 new jobs.

Solar Sister Kenya is focused on gender equity, climate justice, and energy access. Their CEO, Finorah Manyala, leads Solar Sister Kenya in empowering women to establish successful clean energy businesses, contributing to a brighter future for families, and fostering a grassroots clean energy revolution.

The Username Foundation, under its CEO Reuben Kimani, addresses educational challenges by enhancing access to quality education through scholarships. The foundation aims to reduce extreme poverty in communities by empowering students.

Joseph Ogutu, CEO of Safaricom Foundation

Joseph Ogutu, CEO of Safaricom Foundation, and under his leadership, the foundation continues to support education, health, and environmental projects in Kenya, with an investment exceeding KSh 5 billion.

John Gachora, CEO of NCBA Group, has been a stalwart supporter of education, providing scholarships to bright and underprivileged students. In 2023, we sponsored 100 students with an investment of Ksh 11.1 million, offering hope and opportunity for a better future.
