Absa Bank Kenya has broadened its financial services for Kenyans living abroad through its digital platform.

This enhancement aims to simplify sending money and managing projects from overseas, addressing common challenges faced by the Kenyan diaspora.

The self-service platform allows Kenyans abroad to complete the onboarding process within minutes using their mobile phones or the bank’s online platform.

Existing and non-customers can register on Absa Bank’s website or via the Absa Banking app and start transacting.

Abdi Mohamed, Managing Director of Absa Bank Kenya PLC, stated “This proposition will offer various banking options as if the customers were living in Kenya…Absa Diaspora customers can access savings and payment options at competitive foreign exchange rates at the comfort of their smartphones, tablets, or computers.”

The solution simplifies remittances for Kenyans living and working across Africa, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

It aligns with opportunities presented by the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and recognizes the growing importance of Kenyans abroad in the local economy.
