Ebwali Boys and Compel Sportif will face each other in the Western region finals of Safaricom Chapa Dimba at the Bukhungu Stadium.

Ebwali, the champions of Vihiga, beat The Menace from Kakamega 3-2 in a thrilling semifinal.

Ebwali took the lead in the 12th minute through Austin Ondongo who scored a delightful goal.

Sharif Muranda equalized for The Menance via a freekick that sailed all the way through 10 minutes before the break.

Ebwali started the second half brightly, and a thunderbolt by Tom Oserio restored their lead. Captain Derrick Oketch made it 3-1 in the 65th minute following a six-yard box melee.

The Menace made the final minutes nervy after Muranda scored his second goal via a penalty 7 minutes from time but Ebwali hung on to win and sail into the Western region final.

Ebwali’s captain, Derrick Oketch and Compel Sportif’s Titus Gambo scored three goals each in their respective matches and expressed their confidence in winning the trophy and qualifying for the national finals.

“We were a bit lax in the final 20 minutes due to fatigue, but we are happy to make it through, and our goal is to get a slot for the nationals. I am inspired by Benson Omalla and I hope that I can follow in his footsteps,” said Oketch of Ebwali Boys.
