Better World Systems (Bewsys) has introduced its beneficiary management system, Alleviate, to improve the delivery of social protection programs in the country.

Alleviate is a comprehensive solution that has the potential to disrupt the way social impact activities are managed and monitored in Kenya. With Alleviate, organizations in the sector can:

  • Roll out social assistance, safety net programs, cash transfers, public works, fees waivers, subsidies and more
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders on a single platform
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of their interventions

Alleviate is a system that will enable over 4.1 billion people on Earth to have access to social protection. Through this cutting-edge technology, strategic partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to addressing pressing social challenges, Bewsys has brought to life a solution that stands poised to make a lasting difference.

“What our solution does is help in targets and not just what a beneficiary needs, but what the community actually wants,” said Robert Okine, CEO and Founder of Bewsys during the Digital Innovation and Partnerships event held in Nairobi.

Alleviate will enable the government and other organizations to collect, verify, and update data on beneficiaries of various social programs, such as cash transfers, health insurance, and education subsidies.

“At Bewsys we transform communities through collaborating with partners globally to create lasting impact,” said Okine adding that in the social impact world, organizations like to do good and feel good about it.

“We quickly forget the actual need on the ground and provide solutions based off our own assumptions. This is where Bewsys comes in, we provide a system that gives actual data, generated by the people in need of social protection, that is then fed to the organizations that provide solutions. A data driven approach creates direct and long-lasting impact in the society.”

The system will also allow the government to monitor and evaluate the impact of these programs on the well-being of the beneficiaries and society.

The launch of Alleviate is aligned with Kenya’s vision to achieve universal social protection for all Kenyans by 2030.

According to Bewsys, their presence in Kenya is to deepen the relationship they have within.

“I think it’s the celebration of collaboration and it’s a testament to all of us. We have the power of minds, collective minds working together toward a common goal and sharing the same vision, innovation and generating impact,” says Ulrich Gros, Non-Executive Director Bewsys.

The launch event featured The Global Director of CHASP Advisory Mr. Omondi Otieno and B Lab Africa CEO Ms. Lucy Muigai who shared their insights on the pressing social issues at hand and the innovative approach taken by Bewsys.
