Ad Dynamo by Aleph has appointed José Gonsalves as managing director for East Africa.

In his role, Gonsalves will oversee the digital workstreams, deliverables, and management of Ad Dynamo by Aleph’s suite of platforms and networks.

Ad Dynamo by Aleph is the exclusive media buying extension for Spotify, Twitter, Snap, and Yahoo in Africa. As a facilitator of digital advertising in emerging markets, the company is helping to break down barriers.

Gonsalves is excited to join a company that has grown at an incredible rate in recent years, despite the challenging economic climate.

He is impressed by Aleph’s ability to remain agile and make quick decisions to effectively serve its clients.

“The year ahead brings a host of opportunities, such as AI and ML, and we at Aleph need to ensure that we are at the forefront of these developments. We need to look beyond just media buying and more at how media buying can be used as a tool,” says Gonsalves.

José Gonsalves brings with him a deep understanding of the local nuances that govern GTM strategies, as well as agency experience in these markets.

Gonsalves has worked in digital media for 15 years, primarily for multinational corporations in Africa and Europe.

He began his career at Acceleration Media, where he was responsible for 100 tier 3 clients, including ESPN North America and Microsoft, before moving to Naspers as the Digital Ad Operations Manager for Media24.

In 2015, he assumed the role of Global Programmatic Manager at Addsuite, where he was responsible for over $25,000,000 in billings.
