Tanveer Nandhra has been appointed as the Head of Financial Markets for Standard Chartered East Africa, effective immediately.

With over 15 years of experience in Global and African markets, Tanveer joined the bank as an International Graduate in 2005 and has worked across various markets.

She returns to the Kenya business from her previous role as Head of Financial Markets for Standard Chartered Bank Mauritius.

In 2018, Tanveer was recognized among the Top 50 Female Leaders by the Financial Times and HERoes Champion of Women in Business.

“We are confident that Tanveer’s in-depth understanding of clients and key relationships across East Africa will help us to fully capitalise on the significant business opportunities. We are excited about leveraging Tanveer’s experience, energy and leadership to take our business forward,” Standard Chartered said in an emailed statement.

According to her LinkedIn page, Tanveer Nandhra is a highly focused financial services professional with a track record of generating substantial revenue and driving change for a multinational financial services institution across Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

She is known for delivering several ‘firsts’ and ‘landmark solutions’ within the bank and is a multi-award winner of several Women in Business awards.

Tanveer is also passionate about diversity and inclusion, leading coaching programs and moderating sessions to mentor and coach senior businessmen and women.

Her drive to excel and succeed has evolved from seeking promotions to helping others succeed through her work in the wider community and mentoring graduates and senior women.
