Croatia ended their 2022 World Cup with a 2-1 win over Morocco in the third-place playoff on Saturday in Qatar.

The 2018 finalists went ahead early in the first half when Ivan Perisic nodded on a free kick to allow Gvardiol to head in the opener.

The Atlas Lions responded minutes later when Achraf Dari netted in the opposite end past Dominic Livakovic to pull the North-Africans level.

Croatia would rally again and get ahead when Mislav Orsic found the net with a brilliant strike past Bono to put them ahead.

Zlatko Dalic’s side took control of the match in the opening minutes second half, but they could not find their way past the final third.

Luka Modric and his side would hold on to the final whistle to claim the third place as the Moroccans return with heads held high with an impressive performance during the tournament.
