Access Bank (Kenya) Plc on Friday appointed its first female Board chair, Ms. Barbara Barugi. She succeeds Mr Ade Bajomo.

Ms. Barungi is an economist with over thirty years of experience as an academic, development policy practitioner, and international civil servant.

” It is an honour to have the opportunity to serve and deepen Pan-African linkages,” she said.

She is currently the managing partner and founder of Imara Africa Consulting.

She previously worked as a lead economist for the UN Development Programme and, later, the African Development Bank.

Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Sociology from Makerere University, a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Policy and a Master of Philosophy in International Finance, both from Glasgow University.


 

Experience working on communication and marketing departments and in the broadcast industry. Interested in sustainable development and international relations issues.
