The death toll from Sunday’s plane crash in Lake Victoria in Tanzania has jumped to 19; only 26 survived, the airline said.
The plane destined to land in Bukoba from Dar-es-Salaam crashed 100 meters from Bukoba Airport at around 8:53 am.
Precision Air plane, through a statement, said It was passenger flight 5H- PWF, manufactured by Toulouse-based Franco-Italian firm ATR.

“There were 39 passengers (38 adults and 1 infant) and 4 crew on board the flight, ” the airline said in a notice to the public at 4:38 pm.
Tanzania’s President called for calm while rescuers worked at the site of a downed plane.
“I have received with sadness the information of the crash of the Precision Air flight at Lake Victoria, in the Kagera region,” President Samia Suluhu Hassan wrote on Twitter Sunday.
“I send my condolences to all those affected by this incident.”
Precision Air, which Kenya Airways partly own, was founded in 1993 and operates domestic and regional flights as well as private charters.
