The Board of KenGen, Kenya’s biggest electricity producer, has appointed Abraham Serem as the acting Managing Director following Rebecca Mianos appointment to Cabinet.

Miano has been appointed Cabinet Secretary (CS) for East African Community (EAC), Arid and Semi-Arid Lands, and Regional Development.

Until his appointment, Serem had been the company’s General Manager of Human Resources and Administration.

He had served in the position since March 1, 2016, when he joined KenGen.

Prior experience includes Heineken East Africa Ltd, where he held the position of HR Director, East Africa Breweries Ltd, Nampak East Africa; and Reckitt Benckiser East Africa, where he held various senior managerial positions.

Serem will serve until the company advertises the position in a few weeks to recruit a substantive CEO.

Serem holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Nairobi.

He is a member of the Institute of Human Resource Management.
