NCBA Group is expanding its retail business taking services closer to customers with a new branch in Busia County.

The new branch in Western Kenya brings to 7 the total number of branches opened this year and 85 countrywide.

David Abwoga, Group Director of Finance, NCBA Group, said that the move to open a branch was necessitated by the fact that the county presented great opportunities for trade and investment.

“The branch network enhances our ability to meet corporate and retail client needs by offering greater convenience of access and building trust. Clients still rate access to a nearby branch as critical in selecting their bank of choice,” said Abwoga.

“We continue improving productivity and client experience through digitising branch services to drive cost efficiencies and simplify processes. The strategy in the future is to convert branches into service centres for SMEs and corporate customers.”

So far, NCBA Bank has seven branches in western Kenya. The Group intends to continue scaling up its branch network in 2022 by opening 11 new branches by the end of the year, bringing its services closer to customers.

“The group intends to continue scaling up its branch network in 2022 by opening 12 new branches in Kenya and an additional two new branches in Rwanda, bringing our services closer to our customers,” the bank says in its latest annual report.

In 2021, the bank opened 13 new branches in Kenya in key strategic towns, ultimately contributing to an 11 per cent growth of the Group’s customer deposits.
