Everton held Liverpool to a barren draw in an end-to-end contested clash at Goodison Park.

Frank Lampard’s side came into the match at the back of a winless six league matches streak and looked to get their first winning points against Jurgen Klopp’s Reds.

Both sides had chances to go ahead in the first half but were denied by the woodwork with Everton’s Tom Davies having an effort hit the frame before Liverpool had two efforts hit the woodwork as well.

Klopp sent Roberto Firmino in the second half, but the Brazilian had his efforts thwarted by a spirited Pickford in goal.

Everton would find the net in the 71st minute through boyhood Reds Conor Coady who put the ball in the net only to have the effort denied by VAR for offside.

Late in the match, both sides had chances on goal with substitute Dwight McNeil having his effort tipped over by Alisson before Mohamed Salah had a shot tipped to the post by Pickford.

Ultimately, the points are shared, leaving the Toffees to chew over a fourth consecutive draw, while Liverpool awaits their first away victory of the campaign.
