Safaricom Plc has appointed Cynthia Karuri-Kropac as its Chief Enterprise Business Officer, effective September 1, 2022. 

She replaces Mr Kriss Senanu, who left on May 31 “to pursue other interests”. Mr Joseph Wanjohi covered the role  on an interim basis.

Cynthia Karuri-Kropac joins Safaricom Plc from AT&T, where she has been the Senior Director, Enterprise Mobile and IoT Technologies, since 2019.

“With over 20 years of experience in telecommunications, Cynthia has a wealth of knowledge in various crafts, including business strategy, industrial IoT, enterprise technology solutions, executive advisory & decision support, operational excellence, and process re-engineering,” Safaricom said in an emailed statement.

According to Cynthia, she is a global leader focused on harnessing wireless technologies and human capital to drive exceptional business results.

“As an experienced and results-driven leader, I lead diverse teams for sales, engineering, and management resources that design, sell, and implement wireless integrated solutions that harness the power of a global mobility/IOT network in conjunction with cutting-edge, proven hardware and software solutions to enable businesses to achieve and exceed their growth, revenue, cost, and customer objectives,” she states on her Linkedln bio.

She holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Finance and Financial Management Services from Kent State University-Graduate School of Management.
