Restaurant chain Java House is seeking franchisees under its Kukito brand to accelerate its growth in Kenya.

The brand serves various chicken delicacies – Kitoslaw, Kuku Salad, chicken with pickled onion rings, popcorn Kuku, Kuku Sausage fries, drinks, and other yummy bites.

“Kukito is a brand that needs a footprint; between 20 and 30 outlets is the goal in the short term,” Java House Africa Group chief executive Derrick Van Houten reported by The Business Daily.

Java operates a total of seven Kukito outlets in the country, six in Nairobi County and one in Machakos County.

Java House Africa Group’s first Kukito outlet was launched in October 2019 along Kimathi Street, Nairobi.

“Kenya remains a good investment opportunity for retail businesses despite the uncertainties posed by the resurgence of the pandemic, the heated political environment, and the increased cost of living,” analysts from Cytonn Investments note in their weekly report dated August 14, 2022.

“We expect the move by Java House Africa Group to accelerate growth in the retail sector regarding rental yield and occupancy given the existing oversupply of retail space in some regions such as Nairobi.”

Java House also owns the 360 Degrees Artisan Pizza and Planet Yogurt food chain brands.
