Multichoice has announced that DSTV prices in Kenya will increase this September. All the packages have been revised from Ksh 50 to Ksh 500.

“These price adjustments will come into effect as of September 1, 2022, and will see an adjustment of between 5% – 9% for DStv customers. KSh50 across the board will increase all access fees,” it said in a statement.

Across the African continent, DStv still presents the most value among other competitive pay TV offerings. DStv now boasts over 115 channels, including audio, sport, kids, news, and entertainment.

Multichoice also owns GOtv – a digital TV provider, and Showmax – an on-demand streaming service. Gotv competes with cheaper digital tv providers, while Showmax competes with the likes of Netflix.

Showmax also offers live-streaming of local TV channels and sports targeted at everyone who may not want to have a whole DSTv or GOTV setup just for watching sports.

The table below breaks down the old prices versus the new ones. All prices inclusive 16% VAT.
