Kenya and Mauritius are experiencing the sixth wave of Covid-19 infections according to the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention.

According to Dr. Ahmed Ogwell Ouma, acting director of the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention, positive cases in Kenya increased on average by 92 percent in the May, compared with the previous four weeks.

Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced that 427 people tested positive for COVID-19 from a sample size of 3,307 tested in the last 24 hours, raising the positivity rate to the 12.9 percent mark.
