Sidian Bank on Tuesday opened its new branch in Kamakis along the Eastern Bypass Nairobi. Located at Viashla Premier Building, brings the lender’s total physical count to 43 in the country.

The lender which is 72.93 percent owned by Centum Investments has a mission to empower entrepreneurs to create wealth through the provision of transformational financial solutions.

“All this is geared towards offering our customers an unmatched banking experience by offering solutions not limited to trade finance, lending, robust digital banking services, enabling the Bank to remain in touch with its customers’ needs,” said Chege Thumbi, Chief Executive Officer Sidian Bank.

“Our expansion will enable us to reach a wider market and therefore expand our customer base while supporting our customers in the area. Customers had to go to town or Thika to access banking services, this branch bridges access to services for our clients along Thika road and its environs,’’ he said.

“Sidian Bank is well known as an SME bank, providing solutions that work for businesses and entrepreneurs. We saw it as an opportune time to expand our market due to the growth potential in the Kamakis area over the last couple of years.”

In January, it signed a KSh1.7billion loan guarantee deal with Dutch development bank FMO.

“This facility will strengthen Sidian Bank’s ability to provide financing to MSMEs affected by the Covid-19 crisis in Kenya,” FMO said in a statement.
