The youngsters also had an opportunity to be trained by  Njoroge Kibugu, Kenya’s golf protégé during the golf clinic.

The golf clinics target students between the ages of 6 to 18 years old, from schools around the golf clubs marked for the tour.

“Today’s golf clinic was really amazing and I got the chance to interact with over 70 juniors whom I got to train. It was a pleasure sharing what I have learnt in golf with the young ones. I was 6 years old when I started playing golf and my hope is that many of these kids will develop an interest and pick up the sport”, said Njoroge Kibugu.

“This is a fun golf day that will introduce juniors to golf and ultimately scout and identify an average of about 30 juniors who will train at the club for 8months,” says Safaricom.

In the corporate tournament held on Saturday, Zain Manji emerged victorious after carding 41 points. Fuwad Abdallah won the men’s prize on 39 points as Anthony Wachira finished second.
