Food delivery service, Bolt Food has expanded its services to Kiambu, Kikuyu, Ngong, Kiserian, Athi River and Kitengela towns allowing its customers to order via its platform.

The move will expand Bolt Food’s delivery footprint in Kenya since its launch in March 2021. Kenya become the third country in Africa where Bolt food is currently available, after South Africa and Ghana.

“Through this expansion, customers will have access to over 800 restaurants currently on the Bolt Food platform. These include Java, Chicken Inn, ArtCaffe, The Wine Company amongst others,” the firm said in an emailed statement.

Bolt Food currently serves over 40 estates within Nairobi with over 600 restaurants enlisted for their customers.

Bolt Food currently has electric motorbikes, e-tuk-tuks, and e-bicycles being used by couriers on its platform and is leading the race for greener food deliveries in the food industry. The initiative is geared toward reducing Bolt’s environmental footprints and fulfilling the demand for light, intelligent and green modes of transport.

“We are committed to scaling up our operations to benefit our customers and impact the communities in which we operate. This expansion is a testament to our mission of offering quality and affordable delivery services to all whilst offering earning opportunities for our courier partners,” said Edgar K Kitur, Country Manager, Bolt Food.

In February, Bolt Food awarded top restaurants on its platform for their exclusive approach to customer service.

The awards honour, appreciate and celebrate restaurants on the Bolt Food platform for their commitment to quality, provision of outstanding services and professionalism – from service delivery to the meals they serve.

“The Bolt Food awards are a recognition of our partner restaurants’ hard work and dedication to provide amazing food to the communities that they are part of.  As a leading brand, we have the absolute pleasure of working closely with all of the restaurants, and I couldn’t be happier to see them being celebrated,” said Edgar.

The winners were selected based on carefully analyzed data and statistics which include the frequency of orders made through the Bolt Food platform, and feedback from customers.
