Kenya’s rally driver McRae Kimathi and his compatriot Mwangi Kioni finished fourth scoring a WRC3 podium on his first-ever European rally.

This was besides losing  17min stuck in a snowbank on Friday during FIA Junior World Rally Championship staged in Sweden.

“It’s such a great feeling. I mean first time on snow and fourth overall is such an amazing feeling,” Kimathi said. ” I dedicate the achievement of this milestone to my country and my continent.”

“We are proud of you as you continue to go beyond and achieve great success,” Safaricom Tweeted, one of Kimathi’s sponsors.

“It is a big achievement; big Congratulations to him and Mwangi Kioni for a successful weekend while dancing on some ice,” Phineas Kimathi, President Kenya Motorsport Federation and CEO WRC Safari Rally Project Tweeted.

McRae Kimathi started his racing career in 2015 and failed to finish the first six events he took part in, four times by crashing out. He is named after British rally legend Colin McRae, the 1995 world champion.
