The Indomitable lions dusted their initial defeat from Eqypt to triumph against Burkina Faso on penalties in the third-place play-off at the Africa Cup of Nations at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium on Saturday night.
Cameroon, the tournament hosts won 5-3 on penalties, having lost in a shootout to Egypt in the semi-finals on Thursday.
Toni Conceicao’s side battled back from three goals down to clinch an unlikely victory in the end. The Stallions were two goals up at the interval thanks to Steeve Yago’s 24th-minute opener and an own-goal from Andre Onana.
Djibril Ouattara added a third four minutes into the second to seemingly put the result beyond doubt. However, Stephane Bahoken reduced the deficit on 72 minutes before two howlers from Farid Ouedraogo was capitalised on by Vincent Aboubakar to level matters.

Senegal vs Egypt
In other news, seven-time champions Egypt and a Senegal side have never lifted the trophy clash in the Africa Cup of Nations final in Yaounde on Sunday.
Senegal, beat Burkina Faso 3-1 on Wednesday to reach the final.
On the other hand, Egypt lost their opening group game to Nigeria. However, they gained momentum, defeating Ivory Coast in a penalty shootout in the round of 16; Morocco 2-1 after extra time in the quarter-final and hosts Cameroon on penalties in Thursday’s semi-final.
