Retail chain Chandarana Foodplus on Thursday said it is focusing on e-commerce to increase its sales.

The retailer’s marketing manager, Moses Njoroge said they reported a surge in online sales with the percentage of traditional shopping vs online sales at 10 per cent compared to the global 20 per cent average.

“Since COVID-19  happened, we have reported high growth in online sales, we have partnered with third-party vendors and courier services who have helped drive online sales,” during the opening of their 24th outlet along Rhapta Road in Westlands, Nairobi.

Njoroge disclosed that in the next four months, they will be opening three more branches in Thigiri, Riverside, and Westlands.

“We chose this location because of the demographics, it’s convenient because it is located off Waiyaki highway and more in a residential area making it more accessible to residents, It offers unique variety which blends in with this area,” Njoroge says on their latest outlet.

Chandarana Foodplus is an independent chain of supermarkets locally owned, located in convenient locations in Nairobi, Kisumu, Eldoret, Nanyuki and Mombasa.

The chain has focused on stocking a wide variety of goods as part of its strategy, particularly food products.
