Braeburn Group Begin Process to Take Over Hillcrest Schools

The Braeburn Group of International Schools says it is at an advanced stage to acquire Hillcrest International School. 

A statement dated January 25, to parents, staff and students, says the parties have reached an “in principle” agreement on January 20 to sell the entire business and assets of Hillcrest Schools (kindergarten, preparatory and secondary), to Braeburn Schools Limited.

The sale agreement is however subject to approvals from the Ministry of Education and the Competition Authority of Kenya.

“On completion of the sale transaction, Braeburn intends to continue operating the Hillcrest Schools under the Hillcrest brand and offer the highest quality of international curriculum education,” according to the joint statement.

Braeburn is a group of co-educational international schools offering British/International curricula in Kenya and Tanzania.

“We at Braeburn are very excited at the prospect of adding the Hillcrest Schools to the Braeburn Group. Students, parents and staff can look forward to a smooth transition and a progressive world-class international school.”

Hillcrest Schools was established in 1965, by educationalist Dorothy Noad and long-serving government employee Frank Thompson. 

Hillcrest Preparatory secured its international school status in 1972 when it became a member of IAPS. Consequently joining a group of British Curriculum schools across the world.
