JamboJet to Start Flights to Goma from September 10

Kenya Airways’ wholly-owned subsidiary Jambojet will commence flight operations to North Kivu Capital, Goma in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, and to the Coastal Island of Lamu as part of its expansion program.

The inaugural flight to Goma will be on 10th September 2021 and the airline will fly to Lamu starting 15th September 2021.

In a statement Wednesday, the airline’s chairman Vincent Rague said initial flights to Goma will involve two weekly frequencies eventually growing to four, between Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. 

The airline will also operate four frequencies to Lamu. 

“Three years ago, we embarked on an expansion plan that would see us expand our network across the region as well as grow our fleet. We had to put on hold some of the plans due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said. 

The regional low-cost carrier also operates charter flights that can accommodate up to 78 passengers per flight depending on the route.
