Denmark put four goals past Wales in Amsterdam to qualify for the quarterfinals.
Kasper Dolberg scored in either half of the match as the Danes ran riot over Wales.
Wales began the match bright with Aaron Ramsey and Gareth Bale creating chances in the first half. Bale had an effort go wide after the former Arsenal man teed him with a pass from the right-hand side.
The Danes gradually eased back into the match and had their efforts rewarded in the 26th minute when Kasper Dolberg picked up the ball on the edge of the box and unleashed a curling effort beyond the despairing dive of Danny Ward.
Denmark doubled their lead in the second half when Wales’ Neco Williams attempt to clear Martin Braithwaite’s cross landed at Dolberg who sent the ball past Ward to double the lead.
Atalanta’s Joakim Maehle made it three in the 88th minute just before Wales were reduced to ten men as Harry Wilson was shown a straight red card for a cynical challenge.
Barcelona’s Martin Braithwaite sealed the win in stoppage time with a clinical finish that had the VAR review it before it was awarded.
