A goal from Romelu Lukaku and an own-goal by Finland’s goalkeeper helped Belgium seal top spot in Group D.
The Red Devils stormed to the knockout stages of the Euros with a comprehensive 2-0 win over Finland.
Robert Martinez made several changes to the starting line-up which saw Eden Hazard get a nod over his brother Thorgan.
The Real Madrid forward combined with Kevin De Bruyne from midfield but struggled to get past a Finnish side that remained tight at the back.
After a goalless first half, Belgium came into the second half with much more purpose and directness in their attack.
Romelu Lukaku received a slick pass from De Bruyne and put the ball into the net before a VAR review disallowed it for offside.
Former Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen got the Belgians in the 74th minute when he rose highest to connect with De Bruyne’s corner-kick which bounced off the post and hit Finland’s goalkeeper Lucas Hradecky and crossed the line.
Lukaku got his goal minutes later when he received the pass from De Bruyne, turned and put the ball past Hradecky for the second goal of the match.
Elsewhere, Denmark booked a slot in the knockout stage with a 4-1 demolition of Russia.
