Manny Pacquiao announces return to boxing in August to take on Errol Spence Jr.

The 42-year-old has been off the ring for two years for an August showdown against Spence.

Pacquiao, who last fought in July 2019 when he inflicted a career defeat on Keith Thurman to win the WBA welterweight world title, will make his return on August 21.

The Filipino legend made the announcement on twitter that he will square off against against the unified welterweight champion in Las Vegas.

Regarded as one of Boxing’s greatest ever stars, Pacquiao has won world titles in eight weight divisions over the course of his decorated 26-year career.

Spence, meanwhile, is regarded one of the best pound-for-pound boxers around and boasts a 27-0 record.

After defeating Kell Brook in 2017, he has claimed victories over Lamont Peterson, Carlos Ocampo, Garcia, Shawn Porter and Danny Garcia.
